Reykjanes is a peninsula located south of Reykjavík, where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is visible above sea level and it is known to be extremely volcanically active. It is where the last eruptions took place: in 2021, 2022 and 2023 at the Fagradalsfjall volcanic system and in 2023 until now in the Svartsengi volcanic system. Here you can expect to see extensive lava fields covered with delicate green moss, craters and scenic views that look out of this world! And it is also home of the famous Blue Lagoon!
